But What is a Delta Wave?
- "Delta waves are the slowest of all you brainwaves" (Drew)
- Has 0-4 Hz. of frequency
- Associated with brain while "unconscious"
- The least understood
Brain levels of 0.1 Hz and lower results in a dead brain
Theta waves are associated with your "subconscious"
Non-REM
Non-REM has a couple stages of its own:
- Light Sleep: The initial stage of sleep. It is quite easy to be woken up during this phase because you are not in a deep sleep.
- True Sleep: Heart rate and breathing slows significantly. (Process last for nearly 20 minutes)
- Deep Sleep 1: Heart and breathing rates continue to lessen and the brain begins a session in which produces Delta Waves.
- Deep Sleep 2: Muscle activity is the lowest. (As a result, waking up can make you groggy or heavy)
REM Sleeping
Rapid Eye Movement is a stage or phase of sleep. It mostly depends on how far into your trance you are. Humans enter this particular stage nearly 6 times per session.
During REM:
During REM:
- Brain activity becomes active
- Eye movement increases
- Breathing rises
- Blood pressure hightens
- Dreams usually (and mostly) occur
The Science Behind Sleeping
"Thomas Edison slept 3-4 hours at night, regarding sleep as a waste of time"
There are two types of sleeping "modes":

- Non-REM
So...What DAT IZ?
